There is a specific kind of magic that happens right before a baby arrives- a sweet spot of anticipation where you’re just weeks away from meeting the little human you’ve been dreaming about for months, or sometimes even years. You’ve been feeling them kick, hiccup, and play for weeks. As a maternity photographer in Las Vegas I have the privilege of documenting the most exciting time in your life and it’s not something I take lightly. The journey is not just about the bump; it’s about the excitement, the nerves, and the overwhelming love that’s already there before you’ve even held them in your arms.
Where should you take your maternity photos and what should you bring?
One of my favorite things about being a maternity photographer in Las Vegas is bringing my clients to these beautiful locations, espically if they were unknown to them before. Of course the neon lights of Las Vegas are known world-wide, but we have our own hidden gems as locals. Just west of Vegas is where you will find gorgeous Red Rock Canyon. More serene and peaceful compared to the glitz and glam of the Strip. I love shooting here because it captures where your baby’s story begins—surrounded by the same stunning mountains they’ll grow up exploring. A scenic mountain view matched with a couple sentimental props make for a perfect maternity photo session.
This couple approached the details with gorgeous simplicity. They brought along their ultrasound photo and a bunch of baby’s breath. That’s it. Understated, meaningful, and totally perfect. Delicate floral touches added a soft texture against the desert landscape, and the ultrasound was such a sweet reminder of the little life that’s about to change their world forever.
Because golden sunlight and haze go hand-in-hand in the Mojave, as soon as the sun starts dipping behind the mountain range we enter dreamy session mode. Red Rock Canyon is the perfect spot for maternity photos because this is the beautiful landscape they’ll grow up calling home. This season of life is so fleeting. Above all, the goal is always the same: to tell your story.
